QTEC learning (UK) limited is an independent UK awarding body which designs, develops, assesses and quality controls professional qualifications that meet international quality benchmarks. It has been established by international academics and business persons..

Significant numbers of learners internationally have difficulty in accessing rigorous and widely recognised non-academic programmes that provide the opportunity to develop relevant and futuristic knowledge and skills at affordable fees. The United Nations has acknowledged this fact in their ‘Education for All’ programme and has recognised “soft skills” as being a key requirement for learners everywhere. QTEC Certifications are international, affordable and accessible to learners throughout the world.

Chairman’s Message

During my 25 years working in international education in a number of countries, I have become passionate about the necessity for young learners to have training in ‘Soft Skills’. The reason for this is quite simple; it is the increasing body of evidence that these skills are essential for success.

Soft Skills are personal attributes that enable people to act and re-act together successfully under different circumstances. They include the ability to study using effective techniques and to ‘think’ above the surface levels that are the result of rote learning.

A graduate, who has developed positive Soft Skills capability to support their academic achievements, is significantly more employable and has a greater opportunity to advance in their chosen career.

Learning Framework

QTEC provides Soft Skills Certifications that meet international quality benchmarks. All qualifications offered by QTEC adhere to the guidelines established by the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).

The Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) was developed by the Qualification and Curriculum Development Agency of the Department of Education of England and Northern Ireland to produce a systematic and transparent framework for the development and assessment of accredited qualifications. The QCF is mapped onto the European Qualifications Framework, which is a Meta-Framework for qualifications of nations within Europe.

QTEC Soft Skills Certifications are available for students from Grade 8 through to Master level students . All of us in the 21st Century are required to continuously develop ourselves in order to keep ahead of the changes brought about by the new digital age and global economics.

Research from around the world clearly demonstrates that for learners academic skills must be positively supported by other ‘Soft Skills’ to achieve success.Effective Communication, Teamwork, Leadership, Social Intelligence, Customer Orientation and Presentation are examples of the types of skills that employers seek and graduates without these skills may be unemployable.

  • Self-directed and non-academic learning plays a crucial part in continuous personal development.
  • In the case of learners, it becomes all the more important for them to acquire the necessary soft skills that will prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of today.
  • 146 Nations have recognised Soft Skills as the most important element in the “Education for All” Goals set by the United Nations body UNICEF.
  • A recent Harvard University research study published research that showed that 87.5% of the most successful people in the world attributed their success to their soft skills ability.
  • An internal Microsoft Management Survey revealed that their management considered that the most important skills for Microsoft employees are soft skills and not IT skills.
